O.K. folks, we have done it here at Coon Hollow Farm, we have proven that age old question, the one people spend countless hours pondering, over and over again...which came first the chicken or the egg? Well the chicken of course and 5 months later we got our first egg! With 13 hens and 1 very handsome rooster we will soon have farm fresh eggs in our farmstand along with many other things!

The first egg!

ReplyDeleteOMGosh, such wonderful sweet faces:) I just finished a story by Sarah Orne Jewett written in 1879 where the lady lived alone but she always dressed for dinner wearing her 'alpaca' dress and I wondered what that was. Lovely animals...I would like to follow your blog and keep up with those sweet faces. Oh, and who got to eat that first egg?
